I'm having a bit of an uncoordinated day today. After being disgustingly late to meet my father and Betsy, it was because I got off on the exit my father always uses because he says its faster - only I don't know how to use it and spent 35 minutes getting there right after calling Betsy to say I'd be there in five. Ouch.
Then I spend a panicked 20 minutes getting to a gas station; because this is the U.S.suburbs, and gas stations are about 5 miles apart tucked in little side streets you don't know about unless you live there.
Only I did know about the closest one - only it was shut down - so then I had to go further up to the next one I knew; which I know because I've done this before; i.e. spending 20 minutes frantically searching for gas stations somewhere in Reston.
So I circled the Reston Town Center, which was where I thought it was, but couldn't find it. So then I went further up, realized it must be where I'd first thought it was and I just hadn't looked in the right place.
So I went back, and turned onto the correct street - the one I knew it had been on - and saw a new Silver Diner instead of the gas station. So then it was a really panicked 5 minutes cursing furiously up this street until I found another one a few miles further down. Only to realize when I drove back the same way that if I'd only looked left instead of right when I turned, I might have seen the gas station right where I'd left it the last time.
My idiocy is really pushing the bounds today. I think I'm becoming a little unhinged from all the hours I'm working.
